Olis catering equipment hits the air with Ethiopian Airlines

The new modern and high tech catering - premises  is built on 11,500 square-meter,which is three times bigger than the previous facility ,with a   distance of 0.5 km airside access having 20 loading and 10 offloading docks.

The Ethiopian Airlines newly built, state of the art In-flight Catering Facility will significantly enhance the airline’s capacity of offering wide variety menu of meal services to its esteemed customers, according to a press statement issued by the airline.

The new facility will increase Ethiopian meal uplift capacity to more than 100,000 meals per day, which makes a huge impact as compared to the 36,000 daily volume it used to produce previously.

Ethiopian  Catering, one of the airlines seven Strategic Business Units, is looking to extend its operation, opening other new facilities in Africa, following its strategic partnership with other airlines.

It currently provides in-flight catering services for more than 240 Ethiopian daily departing flights, VIP and Charter flights, which often shuttle to and from Addis Ababa hub, as well as to Ethiopian customer airlines flying to Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian catering service is strictly guided by Hazard Analysis and Critical Control points (HACCP), policies and procedures which promote a high level of quality management for the safe production and handling process of all catering services.

The building is equipped with a large bonded stores area where international airline customs approved and certified equipment and stock is held.

Moving forward,Ethiopian catering hopes to further extend its operations and open other catering units in different parts of Africa to take position as the leading catering service provider on the continent.
